Volunteers Matter

Changing Homelessness is looking for 200 volunteers to help with this year’s Point in Time count (PIT).

The PIT is a national, annual census and survey of the homeless population. The information collected during the PIT helps us assess how we are doing as a community and as a nation on homelessness.

Locally, the PIT helps address the needs of people experiencing homelessness.

Volunteers are vital to the count as they ensure we have accurate numbers of who are experiencing homelessness. If you’re interested in learning a first-timer’s experience, check out Thoughts from a new Board Member. It will help to provide an introduction to the count as well as prepare you for a life-changing event.

Here are 3 ways you can help with the count:

  1. Help us pack care packages
  2. Join a team that surveys individuals
  3. Assist with data entry after the PIT
