5 Ways to Give this Holiday Season

The holiday season is a time of reflecting and sharing your gifts with the causes you feel most passionately about. Have you considered how you might give? Well, we have, and there are many different ways to extend your kindness this season, here are a few we think are the most impactful

1. Give your time.

We are busy preparing for our largest volunteer event of the year, the Point in Time Count. The count is a census of the homelessness population that provides our community with essential data. Working with partners, we send trained staff and volunteers out to survey those who are homeless in our city. This yearly event is an opportunity for you to learn more about homelessness and your neighbors without a home. Sign up to volunteer today.

2. Advocate for change.

Much of our community progress is due, in part, to the support of our elected officials and government agencies. Give back this holiday season by contacting your elected officials and letting them know that homelessness is something no one in our city should have to experience. Do you know who your representatives?

3. Spread the word.

Changing Homelessness was started by a group of like-minded individuals who saw a need and decided to act. Grassroots support helps to inspire others and dispel misconceptions surrounding homelessness. Share posts from Changing Homelessness and other local organizations on social media and spread the word that you can make a difference and change homelessness.

4. Shop Amazon Smile.

As you do your holiday shopping, shop through Amazon Smile and a portion of the sale will benefit Changing Homelessness. When you shop, select Changing Homelessness as your preferred charity.

5. Give a gift.

We invite you to partner with Changing Homelessness by giving a gift this holiday season. Great progress has been made over the past ten years as we have seen a significant decrease in overall homelessness by 32% and Veteran homelessness by 82%. We hope to reach our goal of effectively ending Veteran homelessness, but we need your help to do so. Give a gift to change homelessness today.

How will you give to change homelessness this holiday season?
